introducing ruth

Ruth Beresford, founder, chiropractor.

Family, nature and adventures.

Ruth has a particular love for family-centred care. For her, that begins as early as possible, supporting children as they grow and develop.

Ruth Beresford, chiropractor and founder of Lumina

"I'm a big believer in 'it takes a village' to raise strong, healthy, authentic children. We were never meant to do this alone. It was always my vision to create a safe, non-judgemental space for every member of your family to be seen, heard and supported, through all of life's seasons."

in her own words

My approach is thorough, curious and shaped around you. I spend time on the details: your history, your birth story, the things that may seem unrelated but rarely are.

I've focused my postgraduate studies on pre-natal, paediatric, and advanced cranial techniques, so it's safe to say I'm a complete neuro geek who could talk neuro-cranial anatomy all day. More on my postgraduate training below.

Chiropractic has made a significant impact on my own health and wellbeing. Regular adjustments help me feel clearer, more connected to myself, and better able to adapt to life's ebbs and flows with ease. Adjustment day is always my favourite of the week.

I spent a few years living in Jersey before recently relocating back to the UK, making Wiltshire my home, away from my original home of Yorkshire. Since returning, it's been lovely to reconnect with friends and family, and soak up time with the little ones in my life. I equally love a slower, quieter pace: long dog walks, deep chats, and the odd adventure sprinkled in for good measure.

training & qualifications

I studied a Master's in Chiropractic at McTimoney Chiropractic College in Oxfordshire, graduating with first-class honours. Before training as a chiropractor, I studied sports science, and went on to qualify as a personal trainer, sports massage therapist, and yoga teacher. This gave me a great foundation, and fed a curiosity to keep exploring the deeper "why" behind what I do today.

For the last decade, I've immersed myself in postgraduate training focused on paediatric and pre-natal chiropractic care, alongside advanced training in cranial techniques, including craniofascial dynamics and TMJ-specific techniques.

I most recently trained with Dr Tony Ebel in all areas of neurologically focused paediatric and family care, and I'm a certified member of the PXdocs team.

I've had the privilege of training directly with chiropractors who lead the field and teach internationally in neuro-cranial anatomy:

Ruth is a registered chiropractor with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), registration number 04939, and a member of the United Chiropractic Association (UCA).
